Vision Therapy Helped Relieve His Migraines

Congratulations, Wesley!

A success story from a client at The Vision Therapy Center: Migraines were becoming a way of life for Westley. It is a good thing that we homeschooled because Westley would have a migraine five to seven days per week. We did as much school work as we could, and then he laid down in bed with a pillow over his head.

Of course, we tried everything from getting his eyes checked, to blood tests, an MRI, and neurologist appointments. The worst thing of all was the fact that there is no migraine pain medication for a person under the age of 12.

Westley was 8 years old when we finally found The Vision Therapy Center.

After Dr. Knueppel did a thorough exam of Westley's vision we found out that he wasn't using his left eye. His brain was just "ignoring it". So he started vision therapy. After just a few weeks Westley's migraines started to lessen. We were happy and decided that he didn't need the rest of the sessions that Dr. Knueppel prescribed.

But Westley's migraines soon came back. So, we did go back to do the rest of the vision therapy (almost a year in total). It was a lot of work, at home and at The Vision Therapy Center, but now Westley has been migraine free for 7 months! It is actually a surprise when Westley has a headache.

No other doctor could figure out what to do to help Westley. I am very happy that we found The Vision Therapy Center. Westley has a bright future because of their work.
