Teachers for Vision Therapy

Welcome to the Teacher Vision Awareness Network (TVAN). TVAN is an informal group of teachers who understand the important affect vision has on a child’s performance, and are committed to improving awareness among parents and fellow educators.

Find out who else is in TVAN, and read their inspiring stories!

Most, if not all, of the teachers in TVAN have had firsthand experience with the benefits of vision therapy. They’ve worked with a child who has the symptoms commonly associated with a vision problem, and have seen the positive results treatments like vision therapy can produce.

An easy way to spread the word

Any teacher – public school, private school, daycare or homeschooler – is invited to join TVAN. By creating this group, we hope to show educators and parents that a large number of teachers have experienced success through such techniques as vision therapy.

There is no cost to join, and all we ask is the following:

• You make yourself available for an occasional phone call or email from other teachers regarding the program or vision issues.

• You pass along vision-related information that may be of use to your colleagues – especially our Teacher/Parent Vision and Learning Guide.

We also ask that you help us to promote TVAN by reaching out to any peers you know who might be a valuable asset to the group, and are in schools in which we don’t have a presence.

To become a member of TVAN, you only need to  provide us with a short bio of yourself. (see examples of other teachers by clicking on the link below “Members of TVAN”.)

We ask that you submit contact information which will be kept private and made available to other teachers only upon request. We will post your picture, name, and your story about how you helped a child by making their parents aware of vision issues.
